The serial numbers are in an orange-red while the seal is cherry red. Early in production, they switched the serial numbers to cherry red to match the seal and big red X. This note is PMG graded a solid Very Fine 25, which I think is a bit undegraded. You can tell the paper is nice and crisp in the slab. It has tremendous color, which is unusual for a circulated Bison note.
Typically the seal and red X fade quickly. The reverse has some light stains, but they weren't enough to worry PMG into making a note of them. The front is what everyone displays anyway, right?
Overall an impressive note that displays like a VF-35. The low serial number just adds eye appeal and the tough FR number is icing on the cake. CDN/Green Sheet has this scarce signature carrying a premium over other signatures. This note looks far superior and the overprint is bright and original. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
