Please read the end of the description for item notes. The Native American Spirit Animals series. Different animals were revered by many North American Indigenous cultures as sacred beings that guide, help, or protect individuals, lineages, and nations.
In English, these spirit guides are referred to as totem, a word derived from the native Ojibwe term "odoodem" meaning. The term refers to a spirit being, sacred object, or symbol that serves as an emblem for a family, tribe, or lineage, for myths and charms and sometime for evil spirits. The individual or group is thought to possess qualities represented by the corresponding spirit animal. Free Spirits Series-the American Bison. These coins are part of a series featuring animals that are revered within many Native American cultures as spiritual.
The American Bison symbolizes sacredness, life, great strength, abundance, and stability. Vitally Important for Its Symbolism and Much More These animals were sacred to Native Americans not only for their symbolism, but also for their provision and utility. The Bison is the most significant animal to many tribal nations, heavily relied on for survival and well-being. These groups used every part of the Bison from horns to tail for food, clothing, shelter, tools, and more. To some tribes, Bison also represent their spirit, and remind them of how their lives were once lived, in harmony with nature.
Because the animal contributed so much to the quality of life-from tipis and clothing made from hides, to soap made from fat, to tools made from bones-Bison were honored as relatives, with songs, dance and prayer. The spectacular coin is the work of award-winning U. Coin artist and Minnesota native Beth Zaiken, a member of the U.
Mint's elite Artist Infusion Progam (AIP). "Bucking Bronco" Liberty design won the prestigious "Best Gold Coin Design" during the Coty Award ceremonies.
The coin you see is the coin for sale and is signed by designer Beth Zaiken. There are a couple of small scuff marks on the presentation case. They are only visible through a reflective motion. Looking straight at it and you don't see them.
Also there is a small imperfection in the silicon surrounding the coin but is only visible through a careful inspection and a reflective motion. I think the pictures I took are pretty good representation. Feel free to ask any questions or comments. Thank you for stopping by!
