Custom Hand-Made Damascus Steel Knife Set with Sheaths & Bison-Mammoth Handles
Ran in to the knife maker in Montana a few years ago. He was trying to sell the smaller knife. I bought it from him and loved the craftsmanship so much that I had him custom make another larger matching dagger. The smaller knife has 171 layers of hand forged Damascus steel so I imagine the dagger is about the same. He sent me pictures of the process when he was making the dagger.

Looked like a blacksmith shop from before we had electricity. Lots of heat and lots of hand forging. He only uses old school techniques which is not only time consuming but the end result is what you see in the pictures.. See pics of knives and sheaths. Smaller knife and sheath fit nicely in your back pocket, but I've never taken the knives out of my house.

Only displayed in a wooden case with glass front and knives mounted on recessed purple velvet back with leather string keeping them in place. The dagger has a leather boot sheath that's. Hand stitched with an alligator skin insert.

I think the sheath for the other knife is calf skin, but I'm not an expert on leather. The handles are made of Bison and Mammoth. That's the main reason I had to have the first knife. I'm not sure if the Mammoth was just frozen for a million years or petrified. But the knives are an absolute work of art and you won't be disappointed. I don't really want to part with the knives but medical expenses are the driving factor.

I'm confident that you will never see a matching set like this again. Especially when you take the materials and techniques he used into consideration. I'm an artist myself and a serious detail freak when it comes to art.

I'm sure you could use these for outdoor stuff like hunting or fishing but if you have respect for skilled craftsmanship, you will do as I have and leave them in the display case so they never get damaged. Send all offers for consideration. Thanks and have a fancy day! The item "Custom Hand-Made Damascus Steel Knife Set with Sheaths & Bison-Mammoth Handles" is in sale since Saturday, March 24, 2018.
