Extremely Rare Deco Vintage Native American 14K Gold Enamel Sacred White Buffalo Stick Pin. Hallmarked 14K and engraved at a later time 82, most likely for 1982. The entire stick pin with Buffalo is approximately 5.86 cm (2 4.5/16 inches) in height, with the white buffalo being approximately 1 cm (6/16 of an inch) in height from buffalo shoulder back to front feet, and approximately 1.86 cm (12/16 of an inch) in length from head front to tail tip. Tiny red stone set for eYe. As you might have already guessed the white Buffalo aka American Bison was and is sacred to the Native Americans particularly to my favourite natives the Lakota, favourite because I admire Crazy Horse.
Taúke Witkó in Lakota, since he fought persistently for Native American rights. Free to check out my other Rare Stick Pins! I have heard several versions of how Crazy Horse met his end, and one of the latest ridiculous tales is that a fellow native prisoner killed him in a fight. The most logical account was that a Union guard stabbed him in the back with a bayonet while he was still tied up, even though he was already very old, which makes sense seeing how high priority political prisoners are dealt with even today while in captivity. Rest in peace Crazy Horse your story will be told.
