Vintage Lulu Bug Sterling Silver Laura Mears Bison Pendant Necklace Chain Signed

VINTAGE LULU BUG STERLING SILVER LAURA MEARS BISON PENDANT NECKLACE CHAIN SIGNED. This is an exceptional piece of jewelry and a beautiful work of art. It is a sterling silver pendant on a sterling silver neck chain, both of which are oxidized to give the pieces an "antique" look. It was hand-made by Lulu Bug Designs and is a large & heavy piece. The striking feature of the pendant is the beautifully carved and skillfully hand painted porcelain Bison head done by Laura Mears.

This is mounted to a teardrop shape piece of sterling silver and then above the Bison head the artist has set a lovely round moonstone cabochon gem. It has a "lobster-claw" style clasp for a very positive closure. The artist, Sue Urquhart, apparently called this a "Bison Moon Totem".

The necklace and chain in my photos are the actual items you will receive. Please be sure to read the "AGE AND CONDITION" and "APPROXIMATE DIMENSIONS" paragraphs below. The pendant is signed "Lulu Bug" and "925" (for sterling silver) on the reverse and the clasp on the neck chain is also marked "925". She told me she only wore this about 6 times.

This is a stunning and impressive necklace and a beautiful work of art! I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color. Our store has many unique and interesting items in several different categories from 35 years of our dealing and collecting antiques and collectables. The pendant and chain are in excellent mint original condition.

Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of these items. There are no chips, flakes or scratches to the porcelain Bison and no breaks, dents, dings, obvious scratches or any other type of wear or damage to the sterling silver that I can see.

There may be a bit of tarnish to the metal (see the photos), but it is beautiful and ready to wear. Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos, it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece. It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. The pendant measures about 2.625" (6.6 cm) top to bottom and is about 1.5" (3.8 cm) left to right and about. 5 (1.3 cm) front to back. Overall, the neck chain is about 22 (55.9 cm) long. About 1.125 ounce (32 grams).
